For more than a decade, I was an avid hiker. I say was because life threw me a few “old man syndrome” curveballs. After battling gout and taking a couple of years off to handle life stuff, my boots sat idle longer than I’d like to admit.
The good news? I’m back. I’m starting slow, taking my time, and just happy to be on my feet again.
Along the way, I want to start sharing some of the spots I rediscover. Most of the photos are shot on my Galaxy S24+, though I’ll note when I’ve got my Canon in hand. By request, a few of these shots are also available on canvas.
It feels good to return to the trail—one step at a time.
Wahkeena Trail 420 is part of a loop 420 -> 441 -> 442. Not particualrly hard, just pace yourself if your new (orrecovering like myself). If your fit, this is a killer weekday jaunt. I did notice there is still constuction on the 442 section from road maintnence, not game ending). Bring water.
